How should I dress?
You will find that the community of Central Presbyterian Curch is comfortable dressing in many different ways. You will find some people dressed in jeans and T-shirts, while others wear “business casual,” and everything in between. We welcome you to dress however you feel most comfortable.
Where should I park and where do I enter the building?
There’s plenty of parking at our church! When you first arrive at Central Presbyterian Church, we suggest parking in the south parking lot (the one facing CVS Pharmacy). Once you park, you can head straight for the sanctuary, using the door underneath the covered driveway, where you will be welcomed by one of greeters.
What is the worship service like?
Our Sunday morning service usually begins with a welcome from the pastor and a brief overview of announcements and prayer requests. After a musical prelude, we move into a time prayer, singing, and readings from the Bible, followed by a sermon. We pray, sing a final hymn, and receive a blessing. A normal Sunday service usually lasts for one hour.
When do you serve Communion (also known as Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper)?
We typically celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month and at special worship services, such as Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday.
Are children welcome in worship?
Children are always welcome in worship! However, for younger children and infants, there is a nursery located down the hall from the sanctuary. For older children, there are worship packets available–just ask the usher and they will be happy to give you one. Occasionally, we offer “children’s church” during the sermon as a time for special worship instruction.
